I absolutely love this variety and will add 2 more to my orchard this spring.
Because this variety took so long to produce figs and then dropped all its figs for a couple years I had almost given up hope and then 3 years ago it produced a ton of beautiful figs (mine are bluer then those pictured - could be the lighting - and I think a bit larger) and has been a great producer of wonderful and beautiful figs the last 3 years.
This variety may require patience but is well worth it.

There's been some discussion on whether this is the same variety as Rouge de Bordeaux, judging by looks alone it could be its identical twin.

They are highly recommended for the Pacific NW. I rooted several cuttings earlier this year. How long before they start cropping?
Could you describe the flavor please?

My Pastilliere looks same as Bluemalibu's when ripening;
  
and then ripens like this in zone 6.  
Very nice sweet berry taste much juicier than VdB;
This year I put in ground so figs look bigger still 1 week to go to ripen here.
