This is the first year producing figs and they were delicious! 
Very sweet rich honey flavour not watery at all.

This 2 yr old tree lost all its leaves in July. 
It was loaded with figs so I put it in the full sun for them to ripen.  It didn't like full sun during that heat wave without full access to water.  Mia culpa since I don't use SIPs and don't have time to sit there watering twice a day. 

Anyway it grew back its leaves and ripened all the figs.  Yummy so 3 cheers for Peter.

 
 

It looks good, I have heard good things about this variety. What's Mia culpa?

"mia culpa" people say that around here when they are accepting the blame for something.

I was referring to it being my fault that the leaves dropped off the Peter's Honey in July because I neglected to water it for a few days in the heat wave.

In Italian the expression is actually "colpa mia"  means my fault. 

All in all it worked out in the end, you got to eat the delicious figs.

It was surprising that Peter's Honey after yellowing and dropping the leaves grew them all back and ripened the figs!  
I am expecting big things from this fig since I will make sure it has nice spot in ground.

@Alan PH is known for being sweet how was the weather in N.C. this year?

Beautiful pictures! My Pete's Honey lost all its leaves and all its figs around the same time. The leaves came back and the tree is just now putting out some small figs but there is probably not enough time for them to ripen. It helped to deep soak the tree overnight once a week with a slow hose drip because surface watering just wasn't enough. It's a shame because it was one of my better figs last year. 

Thanks for the explanation Pino! I read the reply but never checked on here and missed the rest of the updates. There are really too many good figs...

I love my Peters Honey fig, Pino. It is a great fig! Mine is three years old. Last year was the first year it produced. My harvest was only about ten figs but they were absolutely great!

Meg and Alan I agree this fig is a keeper. 
For me now I need to test and see how it does in ground in zone 6.  If it doesn't do well in ground I will keep in containers.
