Well, I'm glad you took the time to post your pictures.  Those figs look figging delicious!
2nd from the bottom, what kind of fig is that?
9th from the bottom, the leaf you're holding.  What kind is that one.

Thanks Cheryl, the last 3 photos are RdB. The leaf I am holding and the related pictures are seedlings from a cross I made of GM #171 x Home Depot Caprifig, the variation they have is very cool to me.

Very nice.  I'm root a RdB now.  Hopefully it will make it.  Your crossed plant is very striking, long frilly fingers.  I'm a sucker for the unusual leaf patterns.

The only thing I ever crossed was rose moss.  I admire your talent.

Funny... the pics don't show on my laptop with Chrome browser...

Why am I only seeing X [image] and can not  open the photos? help!

I knew there would be problems! If I click on the broken image icons it takes me to the picture, does that work for you guys? Hopefully someone who knows about these things will chime in.

Well I am stuck, the insert photo function here won't accept the public link from Google Drive.
I made a shared album that should work for everyone.

My last post I had to use imgur.  It's easy to upload.  Use the bbcode link.

Then you just paste the part that says [img]http://i.imgur.com/FCPJTmS.png[/img] into your post.

Or, if you want to insert photo from "web address," just use the http://i.imgur.com/FCPJTmS.png part. It does the same thing.

It worked. Nice pictures! I like the seedlings, the leaf patterns look familiar to me...

I checked on my seedling trees yesterday and most have sleeping fig buds. There should be 100's of main crop figs and maybe some brebas, when they wake back up in April.

Very happy I sent you those seeds Sid, and always looking forward to seeing your progress. The trees in the picture had their roots cut on one side and were bent over and buried for winter, I protected them from frost but they still have some damage and will probably grow like mad next year, have cuttings from before they were damaged to graft with. So far it seems like grafting or growing in compost socks is going to work the best for me.

Thank you adipose, when I want to post a few images in the future that is what I will use. Was hoping I could just drag and drop from Google Photos or something really easy like that.

The public link should work, but I never tried it. I will experiment later.

Really nice photos. Thanks for the link.

Accessed the google drive and the pictures look super.... I would most surely love to have some of those beauties to enjoy right now having just finished cleaning up the latest round of snow from this morning...

Thanks for sharing!

Outstanding pictures!  Love your orchard.

Thanks for sharing, I can't wait for fig season too.

Brent, thanks for sharing the photos - it's nice to see a large in-ground fig orchard so close to where I live and in the same zone.  I'm doing something similar but a bit smaller scale and without the fig breeding aspect.  I think at one point we discussed the possibility that you could show me your figs sometime but I got too busy.  This gives me motivation to see if maybe it could work out next season.

My image posting tutorial HERE

For some reason I don't have a view image option, thanks for the tip though if it shows up adipose.

Hey Steve, the last section is getting planted this spring if you want to dig a few holes ;) The farm owner has been enthusiastic about the figs so I got to put in a couple trial rows along with the Etna types. The Etna types have done the best though, it has been a bit of a torture test so far.

Don, some of the Sultane cuttings I bought from you are in that planting, thanks for the extras they all rooted!

Thanks everyone else for flipping through the album.

I should have said, the "view image" is there in Firefox.  On Chrome, you can do "copy image address" instead, which just copies it to the clipboard.  On IE...there's no equivalent that I could see.  If using a Mac/iOS, I don't know if there is a good way.

I tried to keep this one awake in the greenhouse, because it had a few figs. But it lost the lower leaves and the figs dropped off after that. But it has very large 5 lobed leaves with thumbs and the thumbs have thumbs.

It's a HD Capri X GM 171 Gludi seedling.

Thanks for all the seeds it is fun to see how the leaves change into their mature form.
