francisco, there is two or three like that. others are more rounder. looking at the pix of other Pastiliere plants, mature leaves should have 5 lobes. mine are still young and so far showing mostly 3. however, you can see some showing sign of a thumb x)

Hey Pete
I'm very interested in what you think of them when you pick them.
It would be interesting if they were compared to say VdB, VdS or Sultane if you have them at the same time.

Is Baud's Pastiliere suppose to hold the figs on better than UCD's? I got one from UCD but it only had two figs last year and both fell off. Maybe with age it will at least keep a few on to have a taste.

my understanding is they are the same. martin was able to make USDA/UCD Pastiliere to grow and fruit for him. Pastiliere in general drops figs from what i have read. my USDA/UCD Pastiliere didn't make it.

I had nefiach from baud, it drop all three figs last year, it was 2 years old, I left it out in the winter and of course it is dead but I had no time for it. I think, as discussed by many on this site before, the young trees of certain varieties are more susceptible to dropping fruit than others. Perhaps some of these need to have a more mature root system or mature branching system or just a more balanced system of roots and shoots.
