Portuguese figs

Many figs are ripening here now, and I had these 3 varieties this morning. Moscatel Preto, Lampa Branca, and Mel do Algarve. The MP could have needed a couple more days, but dropped off in my hand. Very good flavor, but not complex or acidic, which I prefer. The Lampa Branca was juicy and refreshing, and not overly sweet. Really good. The MdA was honey sweet, and also very good. Here are pics, clockwise with the MP top left, then the 3 Lampa Brancas, and then 2 Mel do Algarve.

Very nice Gary. I have two of the three, so something to look forward to. Love those Portuguese figs 🇵🇹.

Very nice looking figs and they look delicious!

How has your weather been this year and are ripening times typical?

pino, our weather has been much warmer here than what used to be normal. I thought that my figs would ripen earlier, but that has not been the case. My 1st main crop figs started about 2 weeks ago, but the bulk are starting only now. I can only think that our nighttime temps slow things down. It is in the 50s nearly every night, regardless of how warm the days get. We've had many days in the 90s, very little fog, and sunny weather since June. My Black Madeira and Italian 258s have only started coloring up in the past few days.
Thanks Dave. One of these days I'll have to make a list of my Portuguese varieties. Must be over 30 by now.

Thank you Gary for showing us these nice figs.
They seem to be really tasty.
Look forward to see your other Port. figs as they become ripe.
Still no signs of the little fellow ??

Thank you, Gary. Your fig photos are absolutely beautiful!

Hey Gary, Thanks so much for posting such beautiful Figs! : )

Great pic.s - thx for sharing.

Beauties! I love the Portuguese varieties as well.... they are awesome!

The Lampa Branca sounds especially nice...great pics.

Here are a few more, from yesterday. Lampeira Prusch, Lampeira Preta, Capelas, and Carvalho. The Lampeira Prusch is huge this year... maybe the wasps Doug sent? Awesome flavor, though not as concentrated as last year's smaller figs. The Lampeira Preta was a surprise, and though I was watching it almost daily, I found it on the ground after a storm blew through. Capelas is very good here, mostly a sweet fig, and very productive. Carvalho was very flavorful for a first ripe fig from this tree.

Those figs look delicious!

Looking forward to my Capelas they swelled to size of pears so maybe another week to ripen.

You guys are killing me! Love those Portuguese figs 🇵🇹.

Pino,
Dang that's big.
Mine never get that large but it sure can pack in figs into a small area.
Wonderful flavor.
