I just dipped my finger in a little olive oil, and put in on the eye and touched around the whole fruit! Literally a thin film of oil on finger and just kinda rubbed oil on it! It really does work!

Ill have to try it on some brebas.

That's cool.  I've read about the oil trick but never really tried it.

Oil is used in fall to speed maturity before impending cold. The knock is that it reduces quality. Given that breba quality is already low, why the hurry?

I wish I knew that! So I probably ruined all my breba!
Lol

I've tried applying olive oil to late to ripen fall figs. Not worth doing- while does stimulate ripening, quality was very poor.
