Remote Thermometer

Walmart has these remote thermometers on clearance for $6.88 free shipping to store. I used one last year to monitor the temperature in my hoop house from the kitchen. Worked well but I should point out the hoop house was only about 100' away. Not sure how far you can push the range.

I have had several different ones. Most, if not all, are fairly low quality, made in China and replaced every 3 or so years. They seem OK at about 50-75 feet, and after that they seldom connect. With that in mind, they are a useful tool\.

Bill,

Thanks for the info - mine just died.  That is a good price.

I've been using this one since beginning of winter to monitor temps for dormant trees in my attached garage. It's worked great. Gives much peace of mind

I have a cheapie going on 6 years with no problems and Jon is right, after 80 feet for me, the signal is off and on.

Does anyone know if there's one that'll show the minimum Temperatures, for example, the night before?
This would be useful for keeping track of the lowest possible temperatures during winter in you area...

Daily high and lows are displayed by pressing the high and low buttons near the bottom of the unit.
