So the DK i was gifted not too long ago (thanks again G) has grown to about 2-3' in height on 3 limbs and i just up-potted to a 2 gallon container since i plan on changing soil mixture once it goes dormant to 5-1-1 and don't want to shock it now.

So Here is my predicament, it just started popping out figlets and i would have loved for another month or 2 of vertical growth so next year breba crop would be a bit more substantial. I've heard you should let the main crop form to induce better breba crop for the following year, but not sure if that applies to my less than 1 yr desert king. I am leaning towards pulling them off and letting the plant grow more vertically. Here are some pics, let me know your thoughts.

I don't think you'd have any problems if you cut them off

Wow, he looks really great, Matt. I think I'd remove them, if more growth is what you want. In your climate you may want the growth to start slowing down soon, though, to harden off for Winter. I'm sure you'll get some better advice from members who grow in cold climates, but happy to see how well you've done with it.

A great looking tree!
Those are the main crop figs and the DK is a San Pedro fig.
Wouldn’t they drop on their own without the wasp?

Thanks guys. Gary, I didn't think about trying to slow down growth for winter - that's a great point. I did read wood will harden with figs on it as opposed to none. I will keep them on.

Greenfig- I am aware they will drop, I was just trying to I weigh option of leave them on and slow growth or take off and get more vertical growth and potentially lose next year's breba crop.
