rooting some cuttings

Hello all.

I am brand new to fig growing. I potted a few cutting from some of my newly purchased plants and it looks like they are taking.

The Black Missions is in the lead with small roots and leaves along with a white unknown. The Celeste has yet to show some growth and a white Unk.

I did learn something today, it is easy to mix up the cuttings. I may have mixed up one of the Black Mission cuttings with the white unknown cutting.

I am in the Toronto area if anyone needs some of these cuttings once they have good root growth.

There is a special satisfaction from starting your own plants. Been doing it for years with vegetables and herbs put taking a fig cutting and turning it into a thriving plant just seems that much more interesting to me.

I did my first cuttings in March off my lone Hardy Chicago. Did 3 and they all grew perfectly. All 3 are now potted in 10 gallon pots and buried in my garden and all three are over 3 feet tall and covered with breba figs, that I know won't ripen in time but it's nice to see things going well.

Good luck with yours, they look great.  I hope you get the same results and enjoyment out of it that I am getting.

And props for offering cuttings up to whoever is close. Very nice gesture.
