Its a hot and humid 85 degrees here. I found some twigs I had forgotten about in the back of the fridge. The end of the twigs look white but when I scrap against the middle, it is still green. Should I just wrap in parafilm, stick it in potting mix and set in shade? Is that the easiest way now or will the extreme heat and humidity work against it? I had decent luck using cup SIPs during the winter but I'm thinking its not neccessary now? Also please confirm I have identified the right side-up of the twig? You should be fine. Agree, they are right side up. I just had an old parafin wrapped cutting in half perlite/peat in a vented water bottle show roots and a shoot. It's outside in shade. I find that the safest way is a plastic cup of water half way up with water were the water level is half way up on cutting. Change water every two days you will see root starts form. No risk of rotting. I learned this from a member here. Did you suspend the twig in the water or its just sits in the cup? How long before roots form that are strong enough to be potted up in potting mix? I thought that water roots are not as strong and the plants get a shock when they are finally in potting mix. __________________ New to figs!
