San Pedro question?

I'm familiar with the Desert King and just started rooting some.... I'm curious - I've not read discussion about other San Pedro type figs. ... those that will grow a good breba crop.... sacrificing the main crop in non-wasp regions...

I know the King does well here in zone 6 (for the breba). I'm just wondering if there are any other San Pedro's that might as well?

Anyone with experience here?

I'm growing Filacciano Bianco (potted) based on the recommendation of a friend in Z5B.  I started the cutting last year, so I'm hoping for an initial crop this year.

Never heard of it before. Thanks Joe!

Granthoms royal.

Granthoms royal - How do you like it?

There are quite a few San Pedro type figs known for producing lots of brebas.  Some poplar black/dark; Lamperia Preta, Grantham's Royal, Dauphine ..

I am sure there are more.

IMO there are many Common Type figs that produce bountiful 1st crop depending how they are pruned & how well protected for winter.

I don't have any of these cultivars, but from what I've gathered over the years...
here's the word on the street:

- Filacciano Bianco is like Desert King.
- Naples White has a Large Breba crop.
- Grantham's Royal has been excellent in B.C.
- Mead
- Sicilian Red
- Sicilian Black Jr.

Here is much info on a famous San Pedro variety

A good  source of information on a lot of respects related to the cultivation of this class of figs could well be our fellow member Adriano right in Canada (eastern).

@ Charles - While I've heard of those I have no experience with them.... But now I'm curious. I wonder if other San Pedro's will perform as well as I know the King does here?

@ Francisco - Adriano lives about one hour from me. I'm hoping to make a personal introduction this summer. I understand the if I greet him in Portuguese, I get special treatment :-)

If U are talking about San Pedro variants, So far nothing's beats
Granthams Royal taste in my zone. I have posted pictures of GR before
in this forum.

Meade is not san pedro.
I get main crop for 3 months off it.

My White Bajtra (gm8)is a san perdo that put out a breba crop july 4th.
