In the forth year after one other year with fruits and 2 with droping or bad tasting dry fruits finally this year I will have the Chance to taste the fruits again and evaluate them.It did not die to ground but it grew only one trunk,and about 2 foot tall.
This is an ancient cultivar.

After a 2-3 year request for a  UCD  DFIC0079 ficus carica San Pietro,
and  getting 'the NA response', I finally got 3 good-twigs; one just plain rotted,
next one  rooted/leaved and then just plain suddenly died  (main stem rot symptom);
the last did just about NOTHING, but while throwing it away, I saw a 1"+  tender
shoot squirming' from the bottom - with some roots. Sooo,  I  just re-planted with
maybe a 5-10% chance for a success....

Herman, The description of San Pietro in Condit says the leaves can have deep sinuses and narrow lobes.  Do you think that San Pietro could be the U.S. variety known as Stella?

There is also another fig known as San Pietro being sold by Joe Morle.  It definitely is another fig - picture below not quite ripe.

First To George:I will cut 3 inches off each tip,and give it or mail it to you,from the two branches you see in top.
This way you will have another chance.
To Mary Anne:The Joe Morle look very Similar to DFIC 17,wich I also have.
Joe Morle fig is Not Ira Condit,San Pietro,that is a fact.
Ira Condit SP if you read the description,is a green long fig,just like DFIC SAn Pietro.
Stela is very close to the San Pietro.
It just happen to have fruits getting ripe from both figs now.
The leaves are a little different,but that could be because of different Fig Mosaic strain,or lack of ,on Stella.
The fruits look absolutelly the same from both trees on outside.
I will see the difference when I cut them open.
I will take care to have the fruits perfectly ripe on both trees when i take them off.
And I will post the results on this site.

Herman,  I didn't mean to suggest that Joe Morle's San Pietro fig is the San Pietro Condit described.  I just wanted to mention that there is another San Pietro on the market.  From now on I'll mention it as San Pietro (Morle) - to (hopefully) avoid confusion.
Thanks for the information that it might be DFIC 17.  I only got two off the tree one on Sept. 4 (3 1/2 ounces), and one today (2 1/4 ounces).  But it looks like it might be a good fig for this area. 
I'm interested in the relationship between San Pietro (Condit), Stella, and Dalmatie.  From what I've read, I suspect that they are all the same fig.  Dalmatie is grown in cooler areas in Europe and might do well in the North East.
I'll be waiting to hear what you think. 

Well DFIC 17 Is a very good fig,no doubt. One have to have them side by side to decide,if that is the case. I also believe San Pietro,Stella and Dalmatie(an),are SIMILAR figs.Let's see how the interiors look on this too ,very soon!!!

San Pietro,Stella and Dalmatie turned out are the same fig,the difference being ,the state of health the specimen are in.
No doubt San Pietro (UCD),is the most diseased.

However,San Pietro JM, is not DFIC 17:, That was an erroneous ,ID.,SORRY!!

San Pietro JM,is the dark alternative of Dalmatie,and possible will ripe earlier than Dalmatie due to colored skin.
It should be planted more often on east coast,mid Atlantic states.

Yes Pino Vasilika Sika as sold by Belleclare is ,Dalmatie,and for Italian people San Pietro (white version)
