Another dumb question! In the figs4fun varieties section, there are Syn: listings below the name of the variety. Are the figs listed in the Syn IDENTICAL to each other, because I noticed that they have different descriptions? IE Adriatic >>> Syn: Grosse Verte different description.

Yes they are different names that are used for the same variety depending on Location. Some fig varieties have over 40 Synonyms wich is a nightmare. If you dont do your research you could end up with 3 or 4 figs that are identical but have different names.

Yes and No. The synonyms are listed as they have been found (and usually have a footnote to the source) but that does not mean they are accurate - only that some source reported them as being the same. After that, you are on your own,

I hate to be "that guy" who always says to try a search first, but ... here is a thread on the same subject, of which I may have been guilty of not searching on (shame on me).http://figs4funforum.websitetoolbox.com/post?id=3818257&highlight=synonyms If we want to prevent a ton of duplicate threads, it's always a good idea to try a quick search on relevant terms to find an answer before posting.
