Your Dominick trees are really doing GREAT in SoCal by the way. :-) I'm sure 'other' figs would as well seeing as how we have a Mediterranean climate like Italy...hint, hint. Love your story, The Universe does answer your heartfelt desires. :-)

Coop, have you been able to root any of the cuttings?  It sounds like it's a hardy tree seeing that it hasn't been cared for all of these years.  Just curious.

A Corleone fig?  I was hoping maybe, because I have a couple of Sal's Corleone figs, but they do not have nearly as beautiful a leaf as the one in Coop's photo above.  Mine has a leaf with 3 primary lobes, and little thumbs.  Who knows, maybe mine are impostors...?

A very sweet fig. Tastes like sugar, no honey or berry flavor. I really enjoy this fig. Different than all my other figs. I picked a few late in the fall last year, but didn't post about it. I thought due to the insides being so light, that wouldn't represent the real fig. Well this how the fig looks when perfectly ripe.

The king of Arts! Thanks for posting. I had a nice godfather fig late season last year that was much darker ( in skin color), but had the light interior. It was good, but probably didn't represent the actual color and flavor of the true variety. What you posted was more a true representative of what a godfather fig probably should look like. Thanks for posting your true fig fruit. I agree about the unique flavor, however. A good one, none the less!

Sweetness is a major characteristic with this fig, everyone agrees on that so far. Variety???????????? Still a mystery to us all. 
This is great fun, many growers out there growing him now.

What a great post, I'm surprised I missed it in 2015.  Other posters are on point with those wilted tomato plants.  No self-respecting Italian would allow their tomatoes to wilt.  Coppola dropped the ball with that scene.  What an incredible opportunity to own a living piece of that masterpiece.  Especially for Coop who had known about it and been actively looking for so many years and then it practically falls in his lap.  I've been fortunate these past 3 years and the 12 varieties I have accumulated (almost entirely through the generosity of this forum), have filled my space.  This is one tree I would find room for.
