Thought I'd stop lurking and say hello!

Hi, I've been reading the forum for a long time. Thought is was time to stop just lurking and say hello to you all.

So far these have survived fairly happily:

I'm just polishing up the business plan for how "I'll definitely make my money back on that new fig".

Will do, at the moment it's a very small plant grown from a cutting last year. I'll post some pictures when it perks up in spring, can't promise any fruit.

Welcome.  What a great collection of fruit trees you have.
You must live on the outskirts of Leeds for so many trees. My recollection is of small gardens in Leeds.

I lived a short distance from Roundhay Park off of Oakwood Ln, many years ago.
Your climate is very similar to the Pacific Northwest.

DesMoinesWAfig - a 60 year old fig, wow!

I'm in a village to the east of Leeds, where it's possible to get gardens that are a little larger. We have about 0.3acre, but a lot of my fruit trees are in air pots on the driveway :) I've also got 1.5 allotments.

This side of England is a little bit less rainy than the West of England, but it's still fairly cloudy and humid, things like peaches get hit very hard by peach leaf curl.  Relatively low light levels, rainy springs and/or spring frost are the most limiting factor for the other stone fruits and for figs.  Our compensation is it's very green!

Welcome.  I am glad you decided to join.

Welcome
