Too late to fertilize?

I have a bunch of figs in containers, 2-4 years old.  I've been negligent with my fertilizing:  I gave them a good dose of fish fertilizer and lime in June and July, but not in August.  Is it too late to give them another feeding, or should I wait until spring?

Not too late if you are in a true Zone 8. I may fertilize (lightly) in very early September, as I want trunk growth in my figs and olives, if some top kill happens, it's no big deal.

If you fertilize container plants, that means you may need to up-pot before storing them...sometimes it's OK not to fertilize. Remember to have fun.

Haven't had time to reply to you let alone actually do the fertilizing, but thanks for the response! Hopefully I can do it this week.

That's still OK if you use a quick release fertilizer like Miracle grow (Jon, the owner of this forum uses 1/2 strength for potted plants, I use full strength only on inground trees, but give it a full watering one hour before the miracle grow...this is Jon's method and it works great).

OK, interesting.  I used fish fertilizer.  I don't know how to gauge the success of it, the plants are pretty young and a few of them are producing a couple ripe fruits now, but many aren't ripening.  But it's not that warm in Oregon right now either, and we just came off a week of rain.
