.

Just Rooted nothing to report yet.

I have one that is @4' in a 5 gallon pot.

It was the first year and did not produce yet.

Looking forward to it this year hopefully.

Aaron has some really nice unknowns! I just wish there were more pictures of the fruit out there. These could be gems in the rough for all we know!

Last year was the first year I introduced it. It is a really good one. I find that around me the unknowns are all good because they were intentionally planted. They were the best varieties from where the immigrants came from. Someone took great pride in these and I'm passing that along.

BTW Most of them are still available here. The proceeds are helping to fund my missions trip to Swaziland. I'm trying to get Phyto Certificates to bring some cuttings to plant there. Hope they come in time. I leave next Sunday.

Let us know if you manage to plant some over there. Take lots of pictures. Safe Trip.

Currently rooting 5 different varieties from ADelmanto. Hands down the most vigorous root growth of any cutting I'd tried before. Specifically the Prosciutto and Naples Dark.  Of the 15 I started, 2/3 were well rooted inside 2 weeks. I'm very impressed. I think I'm 13/15 now and lots of time left....

Second the Naples Dark. I just upped 2 from 18oz cups to 1 gallon pots today along with unk Portuguese Yellow.

The Naples were three to four inches with multiple leaves and stems, and thick roots at the bottom of the cups. Great start.

Aaron, I have quite a few of your unknowns, purchased at a very reasonable price. You could have hyped up the great unique and totally different taste, promoted them as very very very rare and made only a few cuttings available....etc. etc..etc... but you didn't. You truly are the figman(person) that every member needs. Everyone should take your lead in that you REALLY want everyone to enjoy the figs that you have found and are not trying to make a living off someone else's tree. You are a good figster Aaron! Thanks from all of us.

Thank You for your generosity.

I received the U. Prosciutto last winter and it grew like crazy, and it even produced figs but I ran out of warm weather to ripen them. I expect to get figs this coming summer. I couldn't resist picking up a couple more varieties this winter but I am waiting to start them because I don't want them to out grow of there winter home.

I like the unknowns a lot too. I have a few, but none of these. At this time I have way too many fig trees. I would love to grow more, but my wife is about ready to kick me out. She does not care for figs at all. Luckily the raspberries and peaches I grow keep here happy, and the 25 fig trees can stay for now!
The unknowns in my collection I like are Unknown Teramo. It produces small figs that start out amber, and if you let them sit on the tree wrinkle and become red inside. Taste is very figgy, I like this one, and produces and grows well. Craven's Craving is a Black Madeira type fig from Portugal. It is not BM. It is a little too late fruiting for here. I can only harvest about 1/3 of crop. Excellent figs though. I want a Black Madeira type that ripens earlier here. I have a new candidate just added. JF&E Black Madeira Not! Sold as a BM, but many say it fruits too early to be BM, so hoping this one fits the niche I'm trying to fill. It is a twig this year. Hoping it survives our cold winters. It has to make it in the garage for me to grow it. Other unknowns I have are Unk Sheepshead, and Sweet Dianna.
