Unk. Yellow with Pink interior

Whatever it is, it's a nice find.

Any thoughts on it being an Adriatic?

Aaron, This tree with the Grey is a beauty. Several in a row would make a stunning display. Nice find.

@Sas...Gray...?

Gray trunk maybe...? :)

Hi Aaron4usa,
Nice find ! Really nice skin color .
Was the big fig a bit under-ripe or is the tree not enough watered ?
Does the owner have a big ladder ?

@sppsp: You could eventually spot a good one in the wild, but you'll have more chances in yards speaking to people - sometimes in nurseries as well but with the risk of a mislabeled tree ...

jd, yes it was under-ripe, and the tree hardly ever gets watered.

The Grey trunk looks great in that first picture. It appears that there are different shades of Grey when it comes to fig trees. Perhaps I'm wrong. I like the ones that have a light Grey colored trunk as opposed to dark Grey.

Interesting... Different shades of grey, I wonder if it goes with varieties...

This is a very old post to resurrect, but I was wondering if anyone knows where in LA this fig tree is located. Curious....looks like an interesting one.

I would love to get a cutting from this tree... those figs look amazing!

It would be nice if Aaron gave an update or if the owners of the tree were members and would chime in.  I've got a Kadota but no fruit yet ;-(

I'm drawing a blank on what that might be, not sure I've ever seen a yellow with a red interior like that.

Aaron is no longer on the forum (long story) but I think he runs this website: http://www.losangelesfigforest.com

From the pictures, it is definitely a street tree in the Right of Way between the sidewalk and the curb, and maybe even next to a park. I was hoping someone had maybe stumbled upon it and that it is here in LA somewhere.

Wow.  I wasn't sure if Aaron4USA was really on the up and up after I emailed him through his website, and he replied right away with a price and his paypal account.  A day and another quick email exchange later, I decided to purchase the cuttings from him.  2 days later, with no replies to my email or acknowledgement that he received my money, I did some research on this user, and found that he was banned from this forum previously.  So, being a new user to the forum, I posted on this thread this morning wondering if I had been scammed...but then thought better of my post and deleted it.  An hour later, I get an email from paypal with a full refund of my money, and a note saying:
"Tony. After careful consideration I've decided not to proceed with the cutting delivery due to the fact that your in-forum behavior has not been acceptable. We have been informed that you have posted very inappropriate post in forum about Aaron4USA."

So, if questioning whether a banned user is trying to scam a newbie is unacceptable in-forum behavior, then consider me guilty.

I also received an email (finally!) from him right after saying:
"
I have reversed the process and refund has been sent you your PayPal.

Don’t ever contact this site.
Good luck."

Don't worry, bro.  I won't.

Just a heads up to other new members here... don't ever buy anything from this guy, no matter what name he is currently using on this forum.

I don't think your question was inappropriate. Many ask about different sellers here on this forum,. If a seller have nothing to hide, shouldn't get upset! There was a reason he was banned from the forum.

Navid.

Thanks, Navid.  Just sharing my experience with a "seller".
I didn't join this community for drama...I just want to grow some funky figs ;-)

Please do not put words in my mouth.  Nowhere did I say I had been scammed.  I did say that I had posted asking if I had potentially been scammed, but deleted the post a few minutes later.  Next thing I know, I get an email saying the guy doesn't want to sell me cuttings, and that I had made a "very inappropriate post in forum about Aaron4USA."  A post about a member that has been kicked from this forum...that was deleted within minutes of posting.  Sorry, that just screams sketchy to me.  Buyer beware, but to each their own.

Please do not tell people not to buy from this seller for no reason . What did you want to buy and was the scam ?

Order and than ask if your being scammed I'd tell you were to go if it were me

You got your money back when you questioned his integrity
That's as honest as you can get!!!
I don't know Aaron but he doesn't sound like anyone I would be afraid to buy from

Aaron is a good guy, I know him personally. Seems like he was just upset you questioned his integrity. You got your money back so I don't see why it's a warning.

I'll echo Tony above and probably have a similar reaction if someone questioned if I was scamming them. This is why many businesses have a sign that says, we have the right to refuse service to anyone, or some variation of it.

After all this, was a variety ever determined for this nice fig?
