My first ever fig from this second year tree. The eye was open and had a little split. The skin is a little thick but tender and not real chewy. The inside was tasty and a hint of strawberry. About a 7.

Rafel, I wish my Sals EL was still alive. I lost it with many others this past winter. I had rated it last summer as
an 8 with lots of promise for it. I may or may not try to get another one.

Please tell me if your leaves match the shape of my Vallecalda leaves. If you can post some of your leaves, it would be helpful to me to see if my fig is the same as yours. Thank you. In addition, my Vallecalda do not split with the rain. They have a sweet, grape like flavor.

Leon, as stated above this is the first fig ever off of this tree. It appears that it is going to be a much glossier skin than yours.
However, that does not mean they are not the same. Time and me comparing to these pics will tell. If you dont mind give me
a discription of the taste from yours.

Leon, I believe your plant is different. Here is my Valle Negra or maybe Calda. This is the only leaf pattern on my tree.

Thanks for posting these, Mike.  I might get to taste 1 or 2 this year.  Fingers crossed.

The only real way to tell if they're the same is to grow them side by side.  Each of you send me cuttings and after 3 years I'll let you know.  :)
