VDS source?

Does anyone know where I can get Violette de Sollies cuttings? I had a young tree, but mistakenly left my wife in charge of it for a week. Killed it with too much water

Sorry to hear about your VdS. I was really interested to find out how it did down here. I am also interested in a cutting, or two, BTW.

I've been looking on eBay for a month with no success. I'll let you know if I get any extras.

I have one at home, but it's still small. If you are all still looking next season hopefully mine will grow enough to take cuttings or air layers. It has been a slow grower for me. To clarify I have a Bourjasotte Noire, which I believe is synonymous with Violette de Sollies.

I did a ton of reading on vds vs bourjasotte noire a while back. It seems most are saying it's the same. I'm not 100% sure that's the case. To me, some of the leaf patterns were different. Either way, I'd like to grow them side by side in the same environment.

You could trace the origin of the VDS to the Brigiotto Nero or Bourjasotte Noire.
VDS has adapted to its own environment in the Sollies Pond region of France over a long period of time and is trademarked.
What started as an aggressive grower, came to a halt once I transplanted it in ground. It most likely has to do with the soil. Cuttings are hard to come by as this one has a straight up growing habit and so far has not produced any shoots.

Sas are you in central Texas? Just curious

I can send VdS cuttings to you, Brandon. Send me a pm with your address.

Gary you are awesome!!!!
