Hi Everyone, I finally got my tree labeled Violetta for produce a fig, I am not quite sure its truly a violetta..... Its still a great fig I am just curious about what it could be (maybe Bayenfeige ?). The leaves are all tri-lobed and it ripens later then my VDB. Its not VDB. NEVER SEEN VIOLETTA BEFORE. WILL HELP RESEARCH IT __________________ RICHIE BONI HICKORY LOUISIANA ZONE 8B WARM HUMID WINRERS ARE VERY MILD LOW 20'S BUT WARMS RIGHT UP DURING THE DAY. The Black Madeira type is Violeta with one T. I have the same Violetta like yours, it's a type of English Brown Turkey. __________________ (Zone 12a) Big Island, Hawaii, 2,400 ft elevation, Fern Forest. Avg. July High 77,Avg.Jan.Low 56 Precipitation days 290, annual rainfall 201.80 inches.

From the leaves it could be Bayernfeige Violetta. Mine hasn't fruited yet so I don't know for sure. It is bayernfeige violetta. It produces very good breba __________________ wish list pananas purple, i258, any type of mutation

Good work Becky. I'm surprised that you got it to ripen this early, you must have had a jump start on the season. Many of the EBT variants have late ripening main figs, including BV. Did you install your hoop house to extend the season. __________________ John NH Z5

Pino & Greenguy: Thanks for supporting the Bayernfeige violetta... thanks what I have been thinking! John: We had such a warm winter I was able to get it out of hibernation early! It produces a lot of figs, we will see if they all ripen before the cold :). IMO it could be Bayernfeige Violetta. But Bayernfeige ist just a renamed English Brown Turkey. It makes it not a bad fig but the renaming was just for commercial reasons to sell it even more expensive over here in Europe. __________________ Hi from Germany! (Zone 7b) Christian
