Since my Breba crop is just a few days from ending this year, I want to extend an invitation for Seattle area Forum Members to come over for a Fig Tasting around 7:15pm tonight or tomorrow, so if you are interested please send me an e-mail before 5pm or call if you have my phone number. Perhaps a Fig Pizza after the Tasting at the local Flying Squirrel Pizza Parlor? While out picking this morning, I had two welcome visitors and caught this one on my camera :) A female Anna's Hummingbird :)Since picking last night I was also visited by another guest who left this for me: I think the hole all the way through this Desert King is in case a quick exit was necessary ;)Can't win them all! kiwibob, Seattle
Oh, this is soooo cute! Hummingbirds are so adorable! And yes, he probably is the one who made all of those little pecks into your fig and ate half of it :-D! Yesterday I had one fig almost ripe from my Black Mission but I noticed that it two tiny marks so I decided to pick it early. I made the mistake of waiting for the last three figs because I really wanted them ripe...well I waited to long because all three were decimated! Yup, these cute little guys can do some damage.
