What is your favorite pruning saw?

Someone suggested a Silky, which runs for about $60 on Amazon.  Worth it?  I would not just be getting it for my fig but to prune other trees as well.

I use a Silky Gomboy and swear by it. It's six years old and has never needed sharpening.
When I bought mine on Amazon, it was more like $25. It ships from Japan, so be patient.

Ray, Which one is better- medium teeth or large teeth. Thanks.

I think a Silky is probably one of the best, but a much less expensive saw will work well for most people's fig pruning.  I have a Corona saw that works good for me.

Dave,
It all depends on how you're going to use it. I use mine to prune the 80+
fruit trees in my orchard. I've never used it on figs. This saw is for serious
pruning and is extremely sharp. For my needs, I chose the medium teeth.
I would think the large teeth would be more suited for a lumber jack.

Ray,

Thanks.

Get a silky. They are the best.

Hi,
On figtrees, I only use pruning sheers. There are some big sized and I have one of those too. They are for branches up to 3cm (1') of size.
There are some bigger for branches up to 5cm (almost 2'') .
To cut down other trees, I use a normal but new saw. You can replace the blade when it gets too hard and too long to do the job.
Changing the blade sometimes is a good advice.
There are blades for "dry wood" and some for "green wood". For trees that are alive, you want the blade for "green wood".
A new blade here is 5 bucks. The complete saw is 10 bucks (blade + good handle - you can get some cheaper with no hand protection).
How much is a "silky" ?

On Amazon, the Silky with medium teeth runs about $37
