I can't help with fixing it, but I do know the pain of an unhealthy plant, especially one you love. I hope that someone is able to help and make them better!

if it's newly planted, then it's weak root dried out
my 2cent, try to shade it from sun, it may live again

god bless

The same thing has happened to every sweet cherry tree I have planted (10 trees total), some of which were in the ground for several years before dying.  I have tried many different varieties.  The last one I had looked great this spring and then just died.  Sweet cherries do not like clay or wet feet and are marginal in zone 6a.  No more sweet cherries for me.  The only cherries that I can grow are sour cherries.  They do not seem to be as picky.

Thanks,

Brad

???? What! That's what happened to me! Thing was doing great! Absolutely amazing then outa no where it's just dead! I'm very close to ocean, so maybe my sandy soil? 2 blocks away from ocean, but lots of trees grow here! And as for sour cherries I'd rather nothing!
Thanks that's the first thing that's making any sense cause I also lost another white cherry last year, outa no where!
I have one more left it's a 4 way cherry ooh maybe I can graft sweet cherries onto sour cherry root stock!???

Do you have a protective cage around the roots?  Perhaps something is eating them from underground?

I guess that explains what happened to my sweet cherry as well. Year 3, came out of dormancy fine this spring then just died. My other 2 cherries are fine.

In the picture on the left, there is a tree in the background.  Something seems to be happening (darkening) near the base.  It's hard to see but the tree seems to be struggling.  Could that be a similar story?  Maybe a problem with the graft?  Maybe a borer or bacterium affecting the lower trunk / root, such as crown rot.

Lol that tree is a Saturn peach and is super healthy! No problems at all, what you see is weed wacker damage, it heals over then gets wacked again! Lol but yeah it's about 4 years old this year and has over 100 perfect peaches, so many so I have to cull a bunch of them in the next week or so

If you've been getting a lot of rain then it's probably Crown rot.

It's been the rainiest year I can remember, it's usually 4-6 days of rain with 1-3 days of overcast or sun, it's so aggravating it's not funny every time I look at the 10 day forecast it's it's raining 8 out of 10 days, problem is my other cherry tree is fine? It's been aggravatingly wet this year! In fact it's pouring out as we speak!

If the tree is weak or has some damage, possibly from a weed wacker, then it can open a spot for fungus, bacteria or insects to enter and do their thing. To help your other trees put something around the trunk to protect it from weed wacker string damage.
