If I have learned one top thing in my short time here it the giving generosity of members. Awhile back, one individual sent me a bonus Dalmatie TREE with my cuttings.  Totally out of the blue.  I have a thread on it being air layered indoors.

A few days ago this person must have noticed the last thing on my wish list, Raspberry Latte.  Sent a message saying they would send one my way as a gift.  I was expecting a cutting but no, it is another TREE!

Other members have sent bonus cuttings, surprises, gifts.  I protect your inboxes by not naming but you know who you are.  Thank you!

You make me want to give and that day will come, I promise.

To those I have promised plants, I have not forgotten. :)

P.S. You will always find exactly what you're looking for.  Look for the good, it is here in abundance.  Ignore the rest, it will only drag you down.

It is your curiosity of the unknown and/or the curiosity of what can be. You combine those with the ambition to find out by extraordinary experimentation keeps us saying to ourselves, "what is Charlie doing now?" or "what will Charlie be up to next?". You are doing a good job at keeping this forum positive and moving in the right direction. You are much needed by all of us.

Agree with everything.  I've gotten a lot of help, suggestions, and ideas from the posts on this forum that I wouldn't ever have found anywhere else.  Of course, I've also caught the addiction from you all, too.  It would be nothing without all of you who freely share what you know.  Many of you also have spent countless hours to share your plants and cuttings, and the generosity is an inspiration.  Great group of people here.  Thanks to all of you!

I concur and have been pleasantly surprised by the generosity of folk on here -- inspired me to do the same when I took cuttings from my BT tree, but I gave them away to a local permaculture group (they were overjoyed to receive them...you'd have thought I gave away Galicia Negra or something, heh)

95% of the folk here are great.  5% are Jackwagons.  Just ignore the ravings of the Jackwagons, IMO...

I list some trees last winter but the giving nature of the forum has me rebounded. Some surprise trees as well, bonus cuttings that IM even scared to try and root.

Great posts from everyone. Using the old saying 'show me your friends, and I'll tell you who you are', I love being in this community, and if the character of the people here (my friends already and the ones to come) tells who I am, I appreciate it. You give me class. =)

Regards,
bill

The best way to deal with trolls is no response at all.  This is a great group of people and I'm grateful to be a part  of it.

Charlie,
Thanks for starting this Topic.
There's 200 times more good than bad here.

James,
There is a large # of great members out there in the forum community and much more good.
If you do the math with ~ 33% of registered forum members active or visiting in the past year... of that number less than 0.5% have been jackwagons.
This means that there are ~ 99.5% Good... ; )
If that 33% is larger then the % of good only increases.

<edit>
Alan,
I sincerely hope the following isn't perceived as an indictment.
But, since we are mostly adults and aware of the bad around us, could we not instead focus on the positives, especially on this Forum and in this Topic in particular.

Thanks Pete, it takes time for some to stay positive, but with time it will happen, all the rest of the posts are very positive. If we stay as positive as Charlie and as you say Pete "99.5" good, then we will remain the successful Forum that we have enjoyed being a member.
