Zone 5b/6a only (Top 5 please)

Hi guys

Please list for me your top varieties. I'm just in my 2nd year and I think I have many of the popular varieties (about 30 different varieties). Please let me know your favorites as far as taste and ripening in our environment. From what I gather most people say....

Ronde De Bordeaux
Smith
Lattarula
VDB
Verte
Malta Black

RdB
Improved Celeste
Florea
RdB
Smith

Red Lebanese Bekaa Valley
Violette de Bordeaux
Unk. Teramo
Marseilles Black vs or MBVS etc.

Fifth spot is still open and testing many for it. Hardy Chicago Lebanese Red (Bass) Valle Negra, Bass Favorite, LSU Red etc.

I don't have Smith, looking for it.

I don't like Florea, it is very productive and super early. So is Teramo and it's better, not as early but early.
I have RDB too, it has yet to win me over.

I guess you really like RDB since you listed it twice lol. It actually seems to be on everyone's top 5 list. Even people in the much warmer zones seem to have it on their top lists. I just got mine so I can't wait for it to start producing, so I can taste one.

Drew51,
I think you are close to me. I can share an airlayer of smith with you next season.

Have been growing these figs for years and these have been my best performing;

Ciccio Nero
Fico Bianco
Dalmatie
RdB
Bolzano Nero

To be fair there are many runnerups and so really the best figs are probably an individual preference and product of individual's fig growing skills.
