Zone 7B Can I live my Neri Fig tree outside?

I have a big problem in that my garage is heated (don't know why the hell my dad decided to do that) and other plants in there need light. Whereas my fig tree needs neither ligh nor  heat

I dont have a place without light and heat I can keep my tree

can I just leave my tree outside? I guess I will have to wait for all its leaves to grow come spring if it can survive outside? How long does that take on a two year old plant?

Also is there anyway I can wrap the tree in burlap/plastic outside and expect to maintain it? Wil lit keep its leaves?

A potted fig won't survive freezing temps.   The leaves should fall shortly with the freezing temps on their way.

IMO hardened mature branches >2yrs old can take prolonged exposure to -9C but I don't think the roots are as hardy.

To leave outside you need to wrap the tree really well with some insulation and tuck it into a protected area around the house with a heat source for those very cold periods.
Alternatively some people dig a trench and bury the whole fig tree with some protected covering on top.

Your best bet If the garage doesn't go above 50F is store the fig tree there.
Make sure it doesn't dry out during the winter and be prepared since it will get a very early start in spring and you will need to the fig shuffle to accommodate it.

Unfortunately that garage is def gonna be above in the 60s and 70s. It holds mainly aloe veeras and my mom keeps a T8 light on all night for them

Hi,
In what kind of usda Zone are you in ?
I had pots freeze solid and stay like that and the trees where alive come Spring.
But I'm in Zone7 ... and after the pots froze solid, I pushed them into my garden shed.
I didn't loose any tree that year. But the winter was normal to a bit mild.
