they look very similar in shape and size and color. the most notable differences come with the seed count and ripeness - the riper looking one has 1/5th or 1/6th the seed count. if i had to guess, i would wait to see several more pairs to see if the increased seed count was a persistent factor to know if they are "exactly" the same, but at a cursory glance, if they tasted the same, and i got these at the grocery store, i would say it was the same fig. __________________ Jason Atlanta/Grant Park area - z8
