I am pleased to report that after planting a dead Grenada Pomegranate tree purchased from Willis Orchards here in Georgia last April, the Willis people have now agreed that the plant is deader than a witch's nose or some other part and will be replaced in November or next April, provided I mail the dead roots and 4" of stump back to them.

I would share the clippings with anyone who would like dead clippings, but I do not think that would be productive unless you are looking for extra kindling for your next camp fire. On the other hand, seeing that the tree never had any leaves, I cannot guarantee that that there is no FVW present in the clippings. Lots of interesting small bugs now, but no fungal wilt observable.

Joe

I'm surprised you have to mail the dead roots and stump back to them.  When Gurney's found out they sent me VDB instead of Italian Honey, they immediately issued a credit for another online purchase with no proof at all.  That is not good business IMHO.  I'll be staying away from Willis.  Thanks for the heads up.  Sorry about your pom.  An entire year wasted.

I found their return policy tedious as well. I got Grenada pom. from Petals from the Past last fall. My Grenada also died but they (PFTP) kindly replaced it without the extra... that Willis requires. Sorry for your trouble but glad that it ends in hope.

Yes, it was a year lost, but what can you do. Hopefully, Willis will do better. Meanwhile, Go Terps! Breakout Testudo.gif

I don't know if you know but the owner of Willis Orchard company got his start at TyTy. Go figure. I got this info from a girl working for me grafting that her boy friend works for Willis. So take it for what it's worth. I tried to buy from them when they were in Moultrie but they wouldn't let me do a local pickup so I did a drive by and could understate why.
