If you live in NJ here is the scoop on keeping Chickens! Did these politicians
keep a straight face when they wrote this law?

HOPEWELL TOWNSHIP, N.J. (AP) — A New Jersey town has adopted an ordinance that regulates when chickens and roosters can hook up in backyard henhouses.

Roosters must show they're disease-free and they better not crow about their conquests.

Hopewell Township residents can have up to a half-dozen hens on half-acre lots. Roosters would be allowed only 10 days a year for fertilization purposes.

Mature roosters are not allowed because they're too noisy. Any roosters that crow too long can be banned from the property for two years.

Mayor Jim Burd told The Times of Trenton the ordinance is a compromise between today's lifestyle and the township's agricultural history.

I know this is off topic, but some ordinances are just STUPID!

In NYC, if you own a barbershop or hair salon, you can be given a Criminal court summons for:

HAVING HAIR ON THE FLOOR!  Umm...Ok!

New Jersey is known as the 'Garden State'.
At one point it was the bread-basket for the rest of all USA,
Then CA and FL came along...
However, NJ still has its 'Jersey Tomato', that nobody can beat;
it has something to do the unique NJ-soil/climate...

humor?

"Roosters must show they're disease-free and they better not crow about their conquests."

"Roosters would be allowed only 10 days a year for fertilization purposes."

Who is doing the checking and counting?? LOL

What happens when the rooster returns after being kicked out for two years for crowing too long and crows too long again?

Is he going to end up at KFC or Popeyes?
I like my bird spicy from Popeyes.
