I won 2 cuttings of CdDB and then paid 20$ promptly last night . I check my email this morning and seller had cancelled order. Has this ever happened to anyone else? So now if sellers don't get expected price they can cancel now? The excuse is, they don't have them in stock. How does one not know they don't have 2 cuttings when they only had 4 for sale in the first place, very fishy! Something to think about, lets face it, most of the bidding done on Ebay for cuttings are people on this forum.

Hey Don, sometimes we hate to post names but we need to be aware of problem sellers. Check to see if they are ever relisted. There are two sellers that have the same first name, I purchased from one, terrible cuttings, advertised as fresh, bark peeled off, he did give a refund and not advertise as fresh anymore, the other refused to post picture of the plant and the mother plant. Does anyone have info on the Korina ebay sellers?

i'd say it is a good thing. at least 5 years have not passed and you did not find out that they are actually Brown Turkey or else.

I think the seller has explaining to do...??? Ebay has its Good Bad and Ugly. I believe you can ask the seller for an explanation. I saw that CCD Blanc listing, very tempting. So the next question is do we tell everyone on the forum who is a bad seller and a bad buyer...??? I don't know.???

The seller has to be exposed to entire forum members. Everybody needs to know of a "gone wrong" transaction and sale. So others can benefit from the thread, otherwise why talk about it. I have avoided eBay altogether, unless I know the seller really well. Edit: Same time...a good seller has to be mentioned, cherished and supported, specially if they are a forum member and we know them. Honesty has to be reworded.

Someone should start a thread with just ebay experiences, no chit chat allowed. I know I just posted my first cuttings on ebay (tdepoala) and when I looked to see who else had cuttings out there I couldnt believe some of the fishy items.
I saw the two Korinas as well, immediate red flag. For me, if they dont post a fig4fun id, I dont buy.

Grasa- You are so right, way to put it into perspective. I admit I was pretty angry, and I did want to post their name here (still thinking about it), but in truth I'm not perfect and I would hate to be forever judged by a discretion I once did. I did get a full refund. If they re-list them, you bet I will call them out here. I think I'm officially an addict, I'm taking cuttings too seriously. I can say I've had nothing but good Ebay interactions with Hermansur, KK, and Mnedelcu. Johnyq- The only problem I see with that is for example my Ebay Id predates my forum id by almost 12 years. So do I start a new Ebay id just for cuttings, plants and give up my 100% feedback...surely i'm not the only one who values a feedback...and start with 0 feedback, tough call.

Johnyq627- Oh, you mean list figs4fun id in Ebay ad, duh, not necessarily the id. Yes that is a good idea.

That's a shame Don. I would never do that as this is a tight nit community. I have my suspicions on a few sellers that have already been mentioned, but most are honest.

I always put my F4F ID in my listings so people can check me out. There are at least 3 threads listing trusted and not so trusted ebay sellers Search on ebay. An auction can have a reserve where the seller starts the bidding at any amount but unless the bidding goes over the reserve price the item isn't sold. Setting a reserve in advance is an accepted practice. Canceling an auction is not. However, I have lots of cuttings waiting for shipment and branches waiting to be cut up. If I started an auction on ebay and then when it's time to ship found a cutting to be dried out, wrinkled or having the slightest bit of mold I'd cancel the sale rather than send the item. I'd contact the buyer, let them know and send photos if they wanted. Some buyers might say, "Send them anyway". I am Ciaow on ebay.

I believe the same seller also cancelled my order this morning after I won the bid on two Col De Dame B cuttings last night on eBay. I still mad even though he refund my $25. I wish some way we can black list seller like this on eBay.

I would just stay away from eBay unless you know the seller by trying them in past or from any reputable forum like here. Other than that we always got each other... I never mind sharing all my available cuttings (you guys know that...) and many more seasoned members have always been generous to me and other members. I still think the shady deals and cancelations should be reported here immediately so we can all know about it. My "supposedly" Goji Berry rooted cuttings turned out to be not even eatable pomegranate bushes. Kiss the $40 goodbye !!

Aaron go to your local asian supermarket and buy a bag of dried goji for $5....rehydrate them and extract the seed. They grow very easy.

are korina77-2008 and svet_vasyl-2008 the same person??? I bought two black madeira starters from svet_vasyl-2008 and on their paypal and email the name korina was in both accounts names??? The package I received from svet_vasyl-2008 said it came from Brooklyn, NY??? Any questions I've sent both of these were answered with vague replies. Such as I got the cuttings from someone in a trade. And I have requested photos of their mother plant, but so far nothing.

Henry, sounds about right, I wish someone could tell if the varieties are true. every time I ask for photos he seems to be out of town, when does he find time to collect money and ship???? Very suspect if he could not provide photos.

Chances are slim that it is legit. All of those sellers are likely the same person and why would they change their name constantly if they were legitimate?

LOL on the time is always now. I look at a lot of cuttings on ebay and sometimes if it's a forum member I just contact them directly. I did check some of the old threads to see what other buyers thought of the seller first. There are a lot of new sellers but I just don't feel comfortable buying from them. I guess it just seems odd that someone comes out of nowhere with all these desirable varieties.

schaplin it is a shame and it takes at least a year to realize you dont have what you thought you were buying! I learned my lesson the hard way on my first black madeira and then coughed up some big money to make sure I got a real one.

That korina77-2008 had a single Black Madeira cutting up for sale. I asked her some very specific questions: 1) Do you have the mother tree 2) Has the mother tree produced for you so that you can confirm it is BM? 3) Where did you obtain the cuttings and/or mother tree from? 4) Are you a figs4fun member and if so, what is your screen name? Her entire reply was, "yes I got from figs4fun". I was just reading some of her negative feedback. She responded to some of them with answers like, "LIAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" or "BS!" Every time I have bought cuttings on eBay, it has been from a figs4fun member with screen name in the ad, and I have always had a good experience. Luckily, there are some nice people in this forum and I am no longer fishing for figs on eBay.

Hard to say what the case may actually be. At the same time, I've got to wonder if the seller has any reputation for selling figs if it only went for that amount. May have done both of you a favor.

I agree with Harvey. If the seller has a bad reputation he'll get low amounts for his stuff - and in that case you don't want those cuttings anyway as (to reiterate what's already been said) you may find out after a long waiting period that what you got was not what you bought. You need to be more careful who you buy from. In the past we always listed bad or questionable sellers on this forum. Good luck.

As a heads up, Korina is back at it now showing pictures dated back in January and stating they are the cuttings you will receive... buyer beware!

What's wrong with these people, they are not selling very well so in time they probably will acquire new names of the latest and costliest.

my ebay id is my figs4fun id and my gmail address. I've exchanged harsh words with Korina about fakes figs and I wouldn't trust them at all. svet_vasyl-2008 has purchased things from me so I'm 90% sure they are different people or negative feedback would have been left for me just because of the words exchanged but who knows. It used to be a picture was worth a thousand words but now days people steal pictures and adjust exposure leaves so you really can't trust anybody and that's a shame.
