I am sure Multiple hybrids,of Brn Turk, were introduced,by plant supplyer, some growing them from fertilised seeds of Brn. Trk in Europe ,Asia and Cal.
So I was reaserching this subjiect and this is my conclusion.
According to UC Davis Germaplasm Rep.
The English Brn Turkey is DFIC 17.
So i had ordered cutting from it,in 2006.
This Spring my cutting grew and produced 3 fruits, wich were not bad at all.
As the first fruits on a 1 foot tree they tasted very good.
But i am almost sure your fig is not identical with DFIC 17.
Please tell me after you see the picture; Also there is another Thought to be English Brn.Trk Cultivar that it's owner say is very good and flavorfull.
Just Search "Espo" on GF,fig forum.
DFIC 17 Pix :Bellow

This fruit was 80 grams

The one from EL,is a good one coming from Hanc M. in New yORK.
It is very Similar if not Identical with Espo,Brn Trk
Just ask EL,if they are going to give you a EBT,that originates from Hank Matthies,in Long Island .You do not want any other BT,they might have.!!!

I have heard so much about the English Brown Turkey Fig. I was trying to locate a place that sold the fig. When I search on google all I get is the regular Brown Turkey Fig. Where do you find cuttings for the "English Brown Turkey Fig".

English Brown Turkey are very much different in flavor and taste in my area. In my area, EBT figs are larger, juicier, and sweeter. It is a great tasting fig.

Bought a 5 gallon EBT from EL last year. Taste was really bland. It went to fig heaven.

English Brown Turkey is a very good tasting fig. I do have 3 EBT the one from Edible landscaping has mostly 3 lobed leaves very different compared to my other two EBT that have the typical 5 lobed leaves. Its the only EBT I have that has not fruited yet starting to wonder if its even an EBT based on leaf shape.

I have the EBT which originated from Espo's tree. It is a very good tasting medium to large fig which has a very nice "figgy" flavor to it. It will produce two crops in my area. As H2 suggested, give Mike at Edible Landscaping a call to be sure that the EBT's now listed originated from Hanc M.

Dennis, I replied to one email and did not see any another?? Did you get the information that I sent this AM on the u-pick-it orchards??

........you should now have a PM. Ed Romero will be out of town this coming weekend. Last time I tried to set up a visit with other forum members to visit his super nice orchard....he had to have surgery. I've given lots of other details about their place in that PM.

The two emails that I recently sent to Dennis are somewhere out there in cyber space. However, this forum's Private Messaging function works just fine.

I asked Michale about two months ago at Edible Landscaping, if his English Brown Turkey originated from Hance Mathies, and he say no. He said he was now getting his stock of English Brown Turkey,  from a wholesaler in the south.
