These figs certainly look delicious. Similar to a black mission, but possibly something else. Glad you enjoyed your self.

Nice landscapes/fig pics. Happy to hear that figs also do very well in Chile. The more, the merrier...

Hey John. The fig photos are great. I was also interested in the vineyard photos. I am a home winemaker. My local supplier gets shipments of wine juice and wine grapes from Chile every year, one shipment a week in Apr and May. As you say, the opposite of our season. There was a big snafu, though, the year of the earthquake in Chile. The vineyards were ok, but it was hard to get the grapes and juice shipped out. It's strange, but nice, to make a batch of wine in the spring using fresh juice from freshly ripened grapes. Nice to see home made photos of the vineyards that supply my grapes. It reminds me to get my juice order in. Hard to think about it, though, while looking at those great fig photos.

Lovely photos John, Bet you had a great time in Chile I remember you told me you were planning on going with the family. Those figs do look delicious and certainly look like mission figs. Mission is the most common fig grown in Chile and a nice ripe Mission fig is extremely good I love them personally.

Thanks for comments everyone . Gorgi : Yeah its great to find a place during our winter where you can travel to and enjoy figs in season . I love Europe (my roots are from Greece ) . But when its summer there its summer here . Deiseler : I have a couple black mission trees that fruited for the first time last year . I hope they get that good after they mature. Jamie : we visited a few wineries and were so impressed with the settings . We were lucky enough to be there during the harvest , which was an extra bonus . Some vineyards were over 1000 acres . And surrounded by mountains . What a setting . Nelson : Nice to hear from you , hope all is well . Had a great time in Chile it did not disappoint . The climate and scenery are just like the medditeranean . The farm we stayed on had 15 000 orange trees , 6 fig trees , pomegranite , walnut , lemon , grape , plum , and more trees and some grape vines . The perfect place to get away to for the winter . Eli : Hope all is well . How was you vacation ? John
