yes, and no. they are the first 12 that showed either "root initial" or green bud breaking out. they stayed in baggie method for 10 days before going into dan la's peat pot method.

the next 7 is in different box. they showed more roots since i was away for 3 days.

last 7 is still in the bag with lot of roots. i ran out of cups.

LOL. I ran out of Perlite so I went and bought a huge bag probably 25 lbs.

Ready to pot!

NOPE! Not a chance.

I'm out of clean pots!

so far this year, i have not seen any mold problem. however, since the night temp is going to go over 50 from here on, i'm going to put all my cups outside starting tonight. some has roots through the peat pot now. others are not doing much.

from left to right: Col de Dame Blache, Black Madeira, Ischia Green, Calvert and one cutting of VdB i'm making back up of

pete

edit: Ischia White and other Calverts are in different bin, along with my Kathleen Black back up.

I am new to fig world and got these cuttings from Robert Cantor. He said he originally got them from Jon (not sure who that is).  I also have:
1 Macauly st- Think I lost this one to the mold, I have it out of the ziplock drying out
1 figo branca- no sign of roots, also out of ziplock to avoid mold again
2 dauphine-no sign of roots in ziplock yet
2 black madeira- Just showing signs of roots in ziplock, out of bag again to avoid mold.

In the photo: Two in the back are Verns Brown Turkey (just potted into 1 gal yesterday), two in the front are marabout. I bring the larger Marabout out everyday in return it inside every evening. I have 1 more Verns Brown Turkey in the plastic cup.

I'm betting that I have the most unusual death of a cutting!

I had an EL Green that had rooted, was potted up and was growing nicely with the rest of my potted figs on a table under my grapefruit tree which gives good sun protection but still has bright light.

So what happened?

A grapefruit dive bombed my little fig making a direct strike. It broke off all the little leaves. I'm hoping that maybe it will push some new growth!

We are having rain this evening. I put outside a number of my rooted cuttings for their first rain event.

It's only supposed to get to 54* tonight so they should be OK.

Sorry about your cutting, Charles. Grapefruit can be evil. They are jealous of the attention figs get.

that's better than my son stepping on a rooted cutting last winter while taking his bike out. he said sorry, and i had more cuttings rooted. too bad i didn't look after rest of the cuttings and they all dired up.

i put some of my cuttings out last night. i should have taken all of them out but decided to see how the first few i put out there will do.

last fall, i put about 10 our when the night temp was around 60. some didn't have any root through the peat pot and within few week, all had them.

the some cuttings are doing much better and some are doing worse. i think one of the White Ischia is about to kick the bucket.

most of the leaves are showing FMV. so far BM is showing the least. with BM, it's hard to tell since only one cutting has good top.

Calvert, i have enough of it and only one is showing clearn leaves.

CdDB is also very infected with FMV along with Ischia Green.

The back up i'm making for VdB and Kathleen's Black looks very clean.

All the cuttings seem to be doing whole lot better with fresh air circulation and some daytime heat (will be near 90 for rest of the week). the leaves are darker green since being outside, and looks much more healthy even if they are misshaped.

will post picture of them sometime next week. not much of growth since last picture.

gave two Calvert away last night.

Yes those look great. Congratulations. You have quite a few there. I can't remember can or will you plant inground or will they be pot grown?
