Wondering if anyone has their potted figs growing on asphalt? Does it get too hot for the roots?  I am contemplating moving my figs closer to the house and hopefully be able to watch them more closely. Insert squirrel/chipmunk problems.

PS. They are talking near 100 degrees on Fri/Sat/Sun around here.

Yes. I have never had a problem other than watering more often.

I do the fig shuffle in spring on asphalt driveway outside garage door.
In summer there in yard on cement patio and on rock landscape in there conatainers in my zone.
I do not live in such hot place as desert though.

I wouldn't do it here, unless I bought those plant risers.  Asphalt here will melt your flip-flops in a nano second!
