I have some fig trees I am getting rid of. They are currently in large pots which I am keeping. You must bring your own container or tarp. They are free of charge. Pick up only! PM if interested.

Trees will be destroyed if not picked up 7/4.

1. Dark Portugese(TOJ)-This was inground last year and dug it up and potted it. It was top killed to 2 ft. It has nice root mass and will make a nice bush.

2. Kadota(Monrovia)- It got caught in frost in April but it is bouncing back nicely.

3. Brooklyn White(TOJ)- It was top killed to 2ft but has a nice 2ft sucker to replace it.

4. Col de Dame(UCD)- It is the white version. I started it from cuttings last Spring.

I'd take yours in a heart beat but, unfortunately you're 8 1/2 hours one way from me! I hope someone will be able enough to come get them.
Good luck to you!

AWWWWW MAN! NEW JERSEY!!! I WISH! LUCKY FOR THOSE WHO LIVE BY YOU! I'M IN "YEE-HAW IDAHO" way... too far, the flights are ridiculous too.

Yep, I looked up flights LMAO! Its over $500 bucks, not including hotel, not including car rental, and not including meals... GEEEZZZZ starting to wish I live in the east coast.

:-) Totally eye balling that Col de dame blanc, that was on my "future wish list" **sigh**

My son is coming to TX for a visit next week.  Unfortunately I don't think I can get him to make the drive from the Trenton area before he comes.  If something changes, I'll let  you know.  I hope you find a nice home.

Hey Barry, It was a spur of the moment thing. I had to meet someone at Chickie's and Pete's in south philly, and headed for the Italian market which was a night mare for some reason. They had all the roads blocked by the police, I tried every way possible to get in and ain't was. Next thing I was heading to NE Philly, go figuire. While I was waiting in the parking lot at Chick n Petes I spotted a few fig trees. Rang the door bell to ask if I could take a cutting and at first the young woman basicly told me to piss off, but as I turn to walk away I mumbled sorry I kinda collect figs. Next thing I know she tells me she is a food writer and she wanted a story or something like that. Anyway if someone see's my name in an article let me know. Wish I knew more to tell her, would have been better if someone with more knowledge was there. She then pointed me to the guy across the street, my new friend Antonio who is from Calabria,Italy. He has two trees, one a Brunswick which he says have to go because of eye no good. The other is dark with very tight eye, and his words very good. He told me to return in the late fall if I want cuttings. I will.

There is a Chickie's a Pete's in the NE also. Haven't been in a while as my wife, (the new one) doesn't like seafood. Glad you met someone with a promising fig. There are trees all over the city. Most of those in S Philly wind up being Brunswick, unless you get lucky and find someone who brought one with them when they came to the states. Looks like you got lucky!
