Thanks Ruben, I'm sure it would of been darker if I removed some leaves that were blocking the sun.

Interesting previous thread on this group of similar looking Italian figs:

http://figs4funforum.websitetoolbox.com/post/Weeping-Fig-Aldo-Corleone-5527206

This entire group is very enticing.

Akram , your very welcome.

Gorgi it does look allot alike was that also a breba?

Gina there are quite a few figs that look allot like sal's corleone possibly the same or related. I have not tasted any main crop from my sal's corleone yet.

Main Crop from Last year Looked like this.

End of season They looked more like this

John Yes lots of main crop already at stagnent stage for about 4 weeks.

Dan I had a sal's Corleone breba yesterday too and was much smaller and black in colour very good tasting as well tasted very similar but the Columbaro Nero was sweeter. Possibly due to it being 13 year old tree?

Come on already . Where do you keep coming up with these varieties ?
So much for reducing the number of trees I intend on having .
Good  job.

At first I thought several of these were different, but the CN you are showing resembles the Neri 1 (Brown Neri) in leaves and fruit.

I believed at one point, after tasting Sal's C., Aldo, and Weeping Black, that they were NOT the same.

But after a year of evaluation, if not the same, they are closely related.

Plus you may be able to throw CN in to the conversation since Neri 1, in leaves and taste resembles Sal's C. The only difference was that Neri produced more Brebas, of very good quality.

The Breba have a lighter blushed red look, while the main seem like a dark purplish mahogany.

Thanks Leon.

Dominick I had a sals corleone Breba earlier that day and although it was smaller and different shape the taste profile was very very close even pulp color was the same. I agree that all the names mentioned on this thread are either the same or closely related.
