I think it's peop[le like Bass, Jon and Vasile and many more that motivate many of us to join on the mission to save the rare figs from going extinct.

That is indeed a fine article about Bass, his project, figs in general and some other great fig people.   Alastair Bland is one of my favorite writers of fig stories.

It has been a while since I posted a list of articles that Alastair had written and thought that some of you may enjoy reading them who have not seen these before.    Some of the links within may have expired, but some searching may find them again. http://figs4funforum.websitetoolbox.com/post/Adventure-Finding-and-Eating-Figs-Alastair-Bland-3593139?highlight=alastair+bland

Thanks to all of you.
All of us here are contributing to the survival of rare varieties and making them available, and sharing them with others. We all have the passion for figs.

I was looking up "Montserrat Pons collection" after it was referenced in another thread.
I was out of the country in August and had missed this thread/article on Bass.
Nice article, if you missed it also.
I particularly like paragraph 8, on how easy propogation is LOL.

Growing cuttings the traditional way in the old country, is usually by sticking them in he ground. I do that usually with thick cuttings and they take.

Great article Bass. It's good to put a face with "Bass". You're a spring chicken compared to many of us here ;-) !

It's nice to see all your hard work being recognized in a such a positive manner. Well done!
