After having been burned, I broke with my rule to only purchase fig trees from forum members last year when I decided to bid on one with a strange name. OK I have a sense of humor so I went for it, Bulls Balls, yes thats the name. I guess the reasson is obvious... Supposed to be a very large fig and good eating. Haven't eaten one yet but heres a pic of it almost ready. Yup it looks like a BT, probably is, but that's ok with me I have been fortunate to only have had good ones in my garden.

Well Barry, if that's what floats your boat........... ;-) Good luck with it! Maybe it's a winner! We all take a flyer now and then. I'm working on my football season avatar. I change now and then with the seasons. Also working on my fantasy teams! Drafts start Saturday! Let us know how your purchase works out! Suzi ;-))))

This has been confirmed as BT in the past. There's a thread about it around here somewhere at F4F that discusses its history.

calling a fig bull's ball is so wrong.. we should call this mountain oyster fig.

Jason I knew I could count on you, the BT hound, to point it out, lol. I'd be happy to provide some cuttings to Martin, this one is right up his alley.

Martin, why not? It's dark, it's big, and it is reputed to have the power of a mountain oyster. Surely you want one!

I think to give everyone the full idea of this fig you should have held two in your hand instead of one.

Here it is picked this morning. Taste was ok, definitely low on the scale, a little watery and not as good as my other BT, but it may improve a little in time. I'm thinking this would be good fig to roast or barbeque.
