i had exactly 1 fig. Kathleen's Black. it was good. well.. the flavor was diluted due to rain, but the texture has improved very much. and i can taste the fig. it's was different from the earlier. not sure how to discribe it. i have few more hanging in there, but not sure if they will ripe before they go in to the garage.

it's all rain from there on. now i'll have to think about what to do during the winter. maybe start brewing beer.. work on my new interest in bushcraft.. work with boy scouts on their rank requirement.. but i'm going to miss my figs.

oh.. i'll post a new thread later with JH Adriatic i got from one of the generous forum member. a very good looking tree.

I'm bringing in a few with almost ripe figs to keep in a SW window surrounded by 5000K fluorescent lights (Until I build my LED ones) to see if I can get them to ripen, then let them go dormant.

That sounds so sad...

Good luck keeping busy over your long, cold, figless winter.

I too will miss my figs this cold winter but I have to admit that I did take all the little ones inside to keep growing a bit more before dormancy. It's a good thing bow hunting starts this weekend or I'd be bored outta my head.

All my figs have been exposed to  FMV,some have it, some don't. It doesn't seem to bother them so it doesn't bother me.

Winter winter.... I just started wrapping up some of my trees with Burlap, all their leaves are still on. Forcing it to drop. Don't don't if that was a good idea but gosh darn it, I'm paranoid.
