Dear Friends,

I had this small greenhouse with heating pad below it. I thought I should try cuttings in peat moss and Rockwool. I used dip and grow hormone (10x) and put the cutting carefully in either peat moss ball (Pushed inside small containers as shown in pic) or in Rockwool and put some peat moss around rock wool. I covered cuttings with plastic dome.

I am not sure is it okay to try such a method or peat moss can damage cuttings? Should I put the cuttings in bags? Your expert opinion will greatly help me.

PS: Navid (Na-kesh) thanks a lot for your helpful tips.

Thanks a lot,
Imran

Very impressive.  And compact too.  I like that.

if there is no venting holes, I would open at least once a day to bring in fresh air... looks good!

You are welcome Imran. My only advice would be, to use deeper (6-8") tubes or containers for your cuttings. Put the cuttings all the way in your mix or Sphg moss and leave only one or two of nodes sticking out. The more contact area (surface area) of the cutting has with your mix, will equal to more chances of root formation.

Navid.

Thank you Grasa. It has vent holes. will follow your recommendation.
Navid: thanks again. I will change to deeper containers.

I had a question asked of me today and I don't want to give bad info. "Can you use moss that has been growing naturally on rocks and the ground, to root your cuttings in?"

I think yes, as long as there is no fungal contamination. May be some experts on this forum can answer better.

I was the person who asked  twobrothersgarden, is it okay to root my cutting that already grew a leaf or do I need to remove them(I left it in water for 1 month)?
It only has 2 tiny roots  but is starting to grow my leaves.

I do the same thing but I use pro mix mx and either use liner pots or 3 inch pots and I leave the vents open on it (there are two of them and open in a semicircle about 2 inches long and .75 inch wide, I dip them in root hormone as well.  So far I have had good results, 70-95% , some varities, not many have been 25% though.
