Remember last year when newnandawg (Mike) told us about the pots and plugs available at Kingsman? I used several and got an e-mail this morning they are doing free shipping on $35 or over orders until the 20th. I use the plastic pots that came but I also buy the plugs and use 32oz deli containers. Well last year I was shocked at how expensive shipping was so decided I wouldn't replenish my supply. Got the code this morning and have reordered. Just in case anyone is interested the web site is; http://www.kinsmangarden.com/product/Standard-Rooter-Pots-4 The code to get free shipping is; KCMF4

Maybe it is Bass. He sells these on this website Do they work well for you? Are you saying you use the Qplug in a deli container to do the airlayer?

Phil, I use them also and I really like them, even better than the new ones (air propagation) gadgets and I tried for the first time this year.

Do you use the standard or large size?

strudeldog I like to use the larger ones without the cups. On larger branches I use two with the tops (wider part) connected together to make them one piece. The wrap them in plastic and cover with foil. Just like the old fashioned way of air layering. Does get expensive with them though.

Rafed, So you use the Qplugs without the pots and put 2 qplugs top to top making a longer cylinder so you have a 12 inch long by about 5 wide? I need to do something I sliced myself cutting the neck off a water bottle last night doing one

Strudeldog, for the really big layers I would also use 2 but for smaller stuff one is fine and I use the cups I get with them but I also use some without. If I want to be doing 20 air layers, I don't want to buy 20 cups. You're welcome Don.

Yes. I do have both sizes along with the pots. But I like to experiment too. I've done it with the smaller ones and root riot cubes too. All depends on the size of the twig/branch you want to work with. The RR cubes get slit right down the middle. But you will need to tie a twine or something close around them to keep them from slipping off. Just a gentle snug will do it.

Here is a demo of what I am talking about. The white pipe is being used to represent a branch.

Thank you both That's what I thought you meant about using 2, it's just alot more rooting media than I normally have in a airlayer. I am in for an order assuming I and get the shipping code to work

Thanks for the code, it worked first time for me.
I didn't need airlayering supplies right now, but I couldn't resist and bought some to try in the fall.
I wonder about the rooting gel in cups, would that kit work on figs?
