Anything I can buy from Jon, I don't put on my "wish list," unless I mess up.  I wish to support him, this forum, and am very grateful to him for providing it.

Can you believe all the synonyms for this?  Blanche

I will order cuttings of that, if it's available, but it's NOT on the list.   Edit:  Macool, Mary Lane Seedless, Vista, and Encanto are all on my list.  We now have the property to handle many in-ground figs, but they do need care, so somewhere the fig collector craziness must stop!!

So, when Jon puts his list out, what are you in for?

Suzi

Wow!  Didn't know.  I revised my list due to pricing, but I ordered what I could afford.  Costing a ton to repair that new house!!

yeah i was looking to get  Kathleens black, florea, RdB, and O'Rourke. but i guess i was a little to slow. theres always fall trades to look forward to. and i do have one RdB growing now in a gal pot so i am thankful for that. two more for the hedge project would be nice and i will go ahead and leave room for them for a later time.

Congrats on the new house Suzi, I hope you dont have to leave any of your figs or grapes behind.

Think Martin wants to expand and try some light figs this year;-)

I really wanted that Blanche one, but it wasn't offered.  So many synonyms.  I did receive Italian Honey cuttings from a member, but they were slimy and rotting when they arrived, so next year!! :-))  Grateful to the member who sent, but hard to control conditions through the mailing process.  No fault.  No blame!! :-))

He thinks he has everything I want, except Macool!  For crying out loud!  No Macool for Suzi?

It's a sad day, indeed.

Suzi, if it makes you feel better I got my request in within a day or so of the release of the list and only got one of four of my requests filled.  One the varieties I didn't get was Macool.  There must have been a deluge of requests for Macool or a very small number of cuttings, or both.   However, I am getting Figo Preto which makes me happy.

Did you want something I have?  I'll be happy to send.

Vito, it's OK, you just root them all, and if anything takes, you can send me cuttings next year.  You got lucky!  Cuttings are a dicey thing.  They don't all root!  Happy that you got the Macool, and some year, so will I.  Please take care of yours first, and thanks so much for the offer!

Yes, not everyone is happy. But it is that way every year - the trees never grow enough to make everyone happy. Everyone one who had their orders and $20 in by 2/1 had an equal opportunity for everything that was available. There were just more "wants" than "gots".

I think we're all pretty happy.  They would have cost us way more on ebay if they were even available.  Sooner or later we'll all get all we want.  Last year I got 3 of most cuttings then 5 months later sold 2 plants of each.  Now there are 4 people growing that variety and in 2-3 years each of us will be able to provide 3 cuttings and it grows exponentially.  It wont take long before we're all racing to be the first to give a newbie a Ronde de Bordeaux and Col De Dame Gris.

Suzi and Nicole, don't worry. After the dust settles, Jon will post a 'what's left' list. You will be surprised what will be left. Sometimes it's best to order from that list.

George, it can get out of hand for sure!  Same with wine grapes!

So many varieties, and I have been to wineries who think they have something special, and then I say, "Oh would love to taste your Charbono!  We grow that variety too!"  They are shocked, but they always pour, and I love that Charbono!  Alaciante Bouchette is another rare breed!  It makes wine so deep red and rich, the bootleggers watered it down and sold it in prohibition.  We grow that one too!

This might be my last year to collect.  We have the property, and it's time to get down to work, and enjoy the fruits we can grow!  Oh, and that nice previous owner planted apples, blood oranges, navel oranges, lemons, limes, apricots, plums and peaches.  We'll be bringing ruby red grapefruit and valencia oranges, along with all the figs and wine grapes!!

In ground figs should provide a lot of cuttings, so next year might be my year to pay back! :-))

The forum page said "in approximately two weeks" but the actual information page said the availability page located at http://encantofarms.com/Available_Cuttings_2013.html said "We expect the availability list to be posted on or about February 1st."  He posted it a couple of days early but treated any orders placed before 2/1 as if it was received on 2/1.  I didn't get everything I wanted but am very pleased and thought the process was very well organized.  Thanks, Jon!

I was granted  4 out of 5!!   I'm a happy fig grower! :)

I didn't order from UCD - it was too confusing to try to do in the middle of the night after work.

Well, I came home from "the other house" to find a box from Jon with 3 kinds of cuttings.  All tied with pretty pink bows!  Love those bows!!  Now I have to figure out what the numbers mean.  Guess I'll have to look at the order, but I'm really sick with a bad cold, so maybe tomorrow.............

I stuck them in damp sphagnum with the pink bows.  I'm really tired,  and ready for a nap.

I love the pink bows!!
