Is there a way to attach photos to a PM?  I can't see a way to do it.

pull up the PM screen.  Above the message text box is a row of icons starting with a pair of scissors on the left.  Including the greyed out icons, the 7th from the left looks like a picture on a flat panel, floor mounted TV screen.  Click that.  It will pop up a form asking for the url of the picture.  Enter that and the picture will appear in the message where the cursor is.

You have to upload the photo to the web somewhere so it has a url.

I've done it by bringing up the picture that I want to send in the pm.
Select
Copy
Then Paste it in the pm.
Works every time for me.

Tonycm,

I've tried to cut and paste numerous times in a PM and it doesn't work for me.

Steve when I bring up the picture it's usually in Paint,
I resize it so it fits into the email or pm,
Then I select and copy it.
Then I open the pm and paste it in there.
If it doesn't work for you then it could be your browser, I use FireFox.

Tonycm,

Ahh, it might be the size (pun intended)........too big.  Maybe if I opened the photo in Paint and resized that might work.  Might also be the browser since I do not use Firefox.

Me too, was with the impression that "It can not be done!".
However; it seems that there is always may be a way where there is a strong will...

Tonycm must have a very strong will, he sent me a photo by PM last night.  Problem is I can't.  I'll play around with it more this weekend, but it may be because of my browser.  I am using a different browser than Tonycm.

Steve didn't receive the first pic I sent because it was too big but I resized it and he got it on the second try.
I didn't check to see what size I sent it at but I would imagine it needs to be under the size required when posting pics on the forum.

My last try was down to 25% in Paint.  Maybe even smaller?

For those of you in PC world.....go to the Start button in the lower left corner of your screen, then All Programs, then Accessories, then Paint.  Under File.....Open the photo file you would like to work with.

It's not the relative size but the absolute size.  I've posted pictures on the board and in PMs of 280KB and 867 x 650 pixels.  Try to get down near those specs and see what happens.

Not possible to attach an image but you can include one as outlined by many in this thread.

This is an edited version of a reply I shared with a forum member recently. I hope it helps:

Here's how to insert the forum banner post using a PC.

And here are the steps:

  1. Right-click on the image you want to insert Edit. If this is an image on your PC, then you will need to upload it to a location so that it has an address/location on the web, i.e., a URL (uniform resource locater). There are several photo sharing/hosting sites and social media facebook etc where you link to images.
  2. Select Copy Image Location
  3. Left-click on the tree icon in text editing toolbar. When you mouseover it, the text says Insert Image. It is between the chain link and the film. A window will open.
  4. Paste the url that you copied in Step 2 by pressing Ctrl v and then click OK.
  5. Done
I did the same for this image - not mine but looking tasty:
