Hello Everyone,

Today was a wonderful day to play in the yard and check in on the new fig cuttings and their growths.

Firstly the Black Mission kept from last years cuttings is doing great and already has been producing breba fruit. I am not letting any of these stay on to ripen as I am wishing energy to still of into growth of the plant itself. What started out last year as a 6" stub in the fall is now a 2 in a half foot tree with 5 main branches. This tree was given to my grandfather as he loves BM figs dried.

The Gillet is doing well and has just come awake after everyone else so not much to report on this one.

All the other cuttings from last year have gone to new homes with individuals who want to try growing a fig tree.

My UCD order did arrive just over two weeks ago and to date all varieties have some green showing for leaves and either white dots or 1/2 inch roots. Cleaned all the breba off this years cuttings (over 40 so far). Will be interesting to see how these all go over the next few weeks as I plan to start cupping them next weekend.
