Curious to know what is your earliest and latest producing variety of the growing season. Had a quick exchange with Igor about this yesterday. This will be my second summer with figs and would like an idea of good producing varieties fit years to come. Last year I only had Black Jack, Brown Turkey and Kadota. __________________ Simon C. So. Adriatic, Verte, Bourjasotte Gris, Kadota, Marylane Seedless, Violette de Bordeaux. Breba crops if that's what you are asking. Mine are all in ground. Jury is out on many others that are too young or haven't produced figs yet. Suzi __________________ Zone 9b, Southern California. I'm in Oceanside and my Filacciano trees started giving ripe fruit in late April last year; I suspect Desert king (another San Pedro variety) and others would perform similarly. Saratoga/Chico strawberry is the latest for me; they ripen late August.

One main crop fig is forming on my Atreano... My earliest is the Bebera Branca ripening in late June. The breba are the size of a BT if not larger. The main crop is much smaller. The unk MacCauley St fig had good (not great but good enough) tasting figs the day after Christmas. __________________ Sue Zone 9B, 1946' Ramona, CA San Diego County

My earliest has been Atreano, but to me it's flavor is weak. The latest is Vernino/Pasquale. Nice little dark fig that I've had ripen in Nov/Dec. Cant remember exactly when. True, has been hot, too hot :( I am considering to shrink my heard and repot some into the larger pots. I think it is better to have fewer trees in good condition than just go for a quantity. I guess I am past the "want to have them all" stage. I am thinking to leave 15 or so best performing trees and keep them happy. With our drought it is hard to go 50 grownups in a city __________________ wish list: Violeta, Calderona. USDA z 10a, SoCal

I lost a couple of cuttings couple weeks ago in that other little heat wave. Greenfig, when would you say is too late to up-pot a tree?
