There was a post a while back about the different shape of leaves. Here are a few from my yard.
I'd like to see more of the odd looking leaves or just different than the usual. So feel welcome to share your pics.

I've been documenting leaves for my records and future comparisons. Attached are a few current pictures. They are not odd looking (except for the giant Black Jack leaf), just a means of identifying cultivars at different stages of growth.

Would it be possible to develop a drill down database for the identification of 'Unknown varieties' using leaf shapes, growth characteristics such as fruit shape, fruit size, exterior and interior fruit colors, etc.?  From reading the forum, it would seem that it would be possible to get down to a limited number of suspects if not a positive identification of a variety in many cases without resorting to a plant's DNA.

Marianna,
There are a few forum members that have been doing just that individually for years. I have followed their leads, but have been doing it for my own personal sanity. IMO is can be done, The Encanto Farms Varieties pages perform some of those functions.

My favorite leaf that I have growing, Haikel Lebanese.  Looks a little like Art's #4.
