I just wanted to show you guys what this stuff can do. I posted awhile back that I had lost the Eversweet Pomegranate that was shipped to me. Well, I treated it with both, didn't trim but watered with everything else. Look at it as of today. Dave, I'm growing some from seed right now. I put some seeds in some rooting cubes. They are just starting to sprout. Took about a month. __________________ Art- Western Pa. 6a

Most of them were dried out. I just popped them in and waited. I have them in a plastic tote with the fig cuttings. I'm using Rapid Rooter cubes. The same as Root Riot. __________________ Art- Western Pa. 6a

I germinated the seeds this February, I used the Black Mission dried figs from a Trader Joe's. What I did was the following. Put the pieces of the dried fig in a cup with plain water overnight. The next days the flesh becomes very soft, separate the sees as well as you can by simply mixing with a spoon. Change the water (now you will have the seeds at the bottom but not very clean), wait one more day. Clean again, discard the seeds that don't sink, they are duds, add fresh water and wait one more day. On the 3rd day the seeds are mostly clean and nicely soaked. No treatment was used. For germinating I used the seed mix in a yoghurt cup covered by some wrap. Remove the cover when you see the green leaves to start appearing. Water as needed but don't drown them. Well how about that, and Congratulations! All new great figs start from a seed and I hope you get something wonderful. I get the biggest kick from starting seeds from produce. I've started seeds from strawberries but the dogs played catch with those yogurt cups so IDK if they would be true or not. . Right now I have some pineapple seeds starting.. they took nearly 3 months and will take at least 2 years to make a fruit. IDK why I do this. LOL. They are the white, soft pineapples that grow everywhere but Hawaii. I'm very interested to see what your figs will be. Thanks, Soni! I started some alpine strawberries this year too, in February. They have grown so well that last week I picked the fruit already! I can take a pic tomorrow, when there is more light. They grow nicely and very easy to germinate. Planted outside when they had 4 real leaves, now they look like a small bush. __________________ wish list: Violeta, Calderona. USDA z 10a, SoCal

Soni, It is hugely off topic but here they are. The Alpine strawberries now and in March. I ordered some seeds online, they were tiny but germination rate was high and they grew fast. The ripe berries are small, about the size of a penny. I also received some passion fruit vines in terrible shape, looked a little like cooked spinach. I soaked them in water with Azos then planted them in a pot with both. I just might have some passion fruit in the next couple of years. Do any of you know how ling they take to produce fruit? I'm putting this stuff in everything. It costs a small fortune but if everything is going to live I'm also saving a small fortune. __________________ Tami SE Texas
