I currently am growing 60+ fig trees here in connecticut (i sell them to fund my fig and gardening hobby) and last year i got some cuttings for Golden Celeste and viollette de bordeaux. Those two trees have peaked my interest and I am wondering if they require any special care for growing up here? It may sound like a stupid question but figured I would ask. Most of the other trees I have been growing for a years so I know what they like. Thanks, Steven.

I would say whatever you've been doing for your other trees should work for these as well. Potted and protected in winter and whatever feeding program you're using should suffice. Last fall, I sent out quite a few VDB and Golden Celeste cuttings, are your cuttings from me also?

The only thing I can add is that my Negronne/ VdB do not like full sun in very hot weather - I have them in morning sun and high light but not full hot sun in afternoon. They will wilt , w/o needing water. Keep check when yours get larger.

I sent so many out I couldn't remember. Well regardless of where you got your cuttings they are 2 very good varieties. Good luck with them!
