How'd they taste compared to fresh? Was the fig cooked alll the way through or was the bottom raw? Very good idea, Mrs FMD!

Mrs. FMD thanks you all.
Bob, the brûlée torch caramelizes the surface of the fig giving it a crusty /crunchy texture. The bottom part of the fig remains jammy and figgy. It makes for a nice combination of tastes and textures.
Yes, it made a very nice desert, Mike. We had a guest for dinner and she raved about them.

A lot of people broil figs topped with goat cheese or other dishes.

Dale, she used Manchego Cheese, but any good aged cheese will suffice. Can't beat that seet and savory combination. Charles, my wife was thinking of producing gourmet fig products for sell but that's pie in the sky. so to speak. We are currently in the process of making a batch of fig preserves using ginger an lemon to give it that special bite. We are also making fig leather and experimenting with various spices, including cinnamon, anise, chiles etc.
